Just yards from the end of the cycle track into Glyncorrwg, and a couple of minutes cycle ride from Glyncorrwg Ponds is our spacious, clean and comfortable self catering accommodation. With views to the hills and mountains around Glyncorrwg and conveniently placed for village facilities, you are sure to be well placed for getting up on the trails early, and have a nearby place to relax at the end of the day.

Skylines Rest is a spacious two bedroomed, non smoking, village house with gas central heating, large lounge, diner and kitchen/diner which sleeps 4 in the bedrooms and if needed there is room for one (or two very close friends) on the double sofa bed in the lounge. Large bathroom with bath and shower.

We have tried hard to cater especially for mountain bikers and have provided the following facilities:

  • Secure Lockup with bike rack

  • Hot/cold water outside hose

  • First Aid Kit

  • Washing machine and tumble dryer

  • Satellite FreeView T.V.

  • DVD player

  • Fully equipped kitchen with oven, hob, microwave, fridge/icebox

  • Bed linen

  • Residents Parking outside of property

Within yards of the property there are the following village facilities:

  • The Valley Diner - (under new management) provides hot and cold food, drinks and snacks from 8a.m. to 8p.m.

  • Local convenience store - open till 10.00p.m. and provides groceries, magazines, newspapers, etc and has DVD hire.

  • Takeaway - Next to the convenience store and provides chips, burgers, kebabs etc open from 5p.m. till 10p.m.

  • Post Office

  • Up the hill is Glyncorrwg Hall where drinks are served

Other attractions/facilities in the locality

  • Glyncorrwg Ponds - 3 to 4 minutes bike ride! Provides mountain bike hire, toilet facilities, hot and cold food, information, fishing, a number of World class mountain bike trails, including the infamous Skyline, a 46km trail that climbs over 2000 meters! You will understand why we named the accomodation Skyline Rest!

  • Afan Argoed - 10 minutes drive

  • Cymer - 5 minutes drive with banking, petrol, takeaway, swimming pool etc

  • Maesteg - 10 to15 minutes drive with shopping, pubs, clubs, restaurants etc

  • Neath - 15 to 20 minutes drive with shopping, pubs, clubs, restaurants, leisure centre, Burger King, 24 hr Tesco etc

  • Port Talbot - 15 minutes drive with Tesco, McDonalds, KFC, Morrisons, Hospital, Pubs, Clubs, Cinema, Swimming Pool, Beach (see below)

  • Aberavon Beach - 15 to 20 minutes drive. Great for surfing and other watersports, kites, skate park, long promenade with places to eat, outdoor Lido and the Sand Castle (great for kids)

  • Swansea - 30 minutes drive. Wales second city, and with all usual city facilities. Visit the Mumbles for views of Swansea Bay, pubs, restaurants and Verdi's Icecream Parlour.

  • Gower Peninsula - 40 to 60 minutes. One of the first areas in the UK to receive an area of outstanding natural beauty and is rich with world class beaches, and unspoilt countryside.

  • Brecon Beacons National Park - 30 to 45 minutes. Unspoilt and spectacular, walking, birdwatching, mountain biking.

  • Ystradfelte Waterfalls - 40 minutes. A hidden gem, nestled in a secluded position just outside of Glyneath, you need to take some good footwear, a waterproof, a map and a day to explore the spectacular waterfalls that lay hidden around this area.

  • Pembrokeshire and beyond - 1 hour 30 plus. For more unspoilt and unpopulated beaches, great for watersports etc. head out west and explore! Too much to list here, but you won't be dissapointed.

Friday to Monday breaks: £199
Monday to Fridays: £299
7 day stay: £399
14 night stay: £650

All prices are per party not per person.

Once your dates are confirmed by us we require you to send a deposit equal to 25% of the total cost of the holiday. The balance is payable 4 weeks prior to holiday start date. If booking within 4 weeks of the start date we ask for the full balance to be sent.

Check in times from 3.30 p.m. until 9.00p.m. (unless by prior arrangement)
Checkout time is strictly by 10.00 a.m. on day of departure

For the comfort of all our guests the property is strictly non-smoking and no pets are allowed at any time
